An operations / departmental manager is someone who manages teams, projects, and achieves operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisation’s strategy.
Specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same.
Key responsibilities include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, coaching and mentoring, financial and resource management, talent management, and managing change.
The course will typically take 2 ½ years to complete.
The entry requirement for this course will be decided by each employer, but may typically be five GCSEs at Grade C or higher.
We recommend other relevant or prior experience may this could also be considered as an alternative. You should to be in the correct role to deliver against the required competencies, have achieved or achieve Maths and English qualifications at GCSE grade c and above or functional skills L2
Learners without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
On completion, learners can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, and those with 3 years’ of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI.
Upon completion, learners will be awarded with An Operations / Departmental Manager Level 5 certificate.
