A property maintenance operative will ensure property conditions are up to the highest quality and will also make sure the building is maintained for safe working conditions. Property maintenance operatives provide utmost satisfaction to clients and colleagues whilst giving a high level of quality. They require an understanding of the buildings electrical systems, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment. When it comes to fault finding, a property maintenance operative is the first responder whilst maintaining maximum quality and ensuring cost effectiveness. They will prevent major damage to properties which could save costs and reduce reactive intervention.
Minimum of 12 months
This standard will be reviewed every 2 years due to legislation and technology changes.
Individual employers will set their selection criteria but the standard includes Maths and English understanding and functional application at Level 1, enabling learner’s to aspire to the next level. Employers will set the entry specification suitable for the correct level of the individual.
The learner will be recognised by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) providing Associate Membership for the learner whilst studying. BIFM have confirmed resources and learning materials will be available for the learner to support them throughout their learning journey.
