Before the start of an apprenticeship programme, the employer, trainee, and training provider all sign a contract known as the apprenticeship training plan. Along with the apprenticeship agreement, it is signed during the apprentice induction period.
The training plan consists of a list of requirements for the learner, the trainer, and the employer, as well as extra programme details. It documents the commitment of all parties to completing the apprenticeship programme.
One of two contracts signed before the apprenticeship begins is the training plan, which was formerly known as an apprenticeship commitment statement. The other is the apprenticeship agreement.
A commitment statement, which was the previous name for an apprenticeship training plan, provides comprehensive information regarding the scope and length of the programme. It also certifies the learner’s eligibility and the commitment of all parties to the apprenticeship programme.
A detailed description of the programme, including its structure and delivery, is also included in the training plan. The example apprenticeship training plan should include:
It’s also crucial to keep in mind that the plan for apprenticeship training should be a living document, and any modifications made by the learner, employer, or provider must be agreed upon in writing by all parties.
The apprenticeship commitment statement was formerly referred to as the apprenticeship training plan. The commitment statement also included information on total programme expenditures, and as part of modifications to the rules governing apprenticeship funding, the wording was revised in the summer of 2022.
